Not sure if I’m overthinking this, but are there any legalities to consider when doing this? Basically I’m wondering if companies like INPRNT have an issue with artists buying the prints at seller price, and then selling the prints themselves (obviously at a higher price) outside of the INPRNT setting. Switching from a POD model to an inventory model would mean less quantities available… but maybe that’s a good thing? Even if I don’t do “limited edition” runs, having stuff go out of stock occasionally could be an incentive to buy? As opposed to POD where it’s kind of always available so hey no rush to buy. I think I could handle it though, and that the perceived benefits would be worth it. More hands on equals more work, to do the shipping myself. While of course that makes sense, I can see how it would be hard to scale on that model, if I were to suddenly get a big order and need to pay those costs.Įven though I’d need to pay for the printing up front, it feels less expensive than buying my own printer / paper / inks. While the Etsy / printful sync is convenient, I don’t love that as orders come in I need to pay the printing cost before I see the Etsy income. I can better plan for printing costs, since I would invest the money to print upfront and plan accordingly. I can have inventory on hand if I’d like to try to sell last minute at a local art fair or anything like that. I have Printful marked as my Etsy production partner and think I have it pretty clearly marked on my Etsy, but I wonder if it could still be off putting to customers, to receive their order from a seemingly random printer company rather than from the artist themself. I currently have my Etsy synced up to Printful, and so customers receive their orders from Printful. More of a personal touch than my current situation. I can be more “hands on” with the prints I sell, I can quality check each one before I ship it. Thanks in advance for anyone who reads, any feedback is appreciated! Possible pros / cons below, of buying my prints from INPRNT and then selling on Etsy / personal site. Redbubble is great but I feel it can be overwhelming to a buyer, almost like Amazon, and VERY easy to lost a buyer to another artist’s products. Some thoughts I’ve had below, I’d love to hear any feedback! Also as a note, I do have my stuff on redbubble and would probably keep it there as a super passive occasional income, but thinking of making my website and Etsy shop feel a bit more curated, to possibly push a higher value on my art prints and add a more personal feel. Here are our top promo codes and InPRNT deals for April 29th, 2023. I am considering ordering some small print runs of a few of my paintings at the INPRNT seller price, have them shipped to me, and then I sell that inventory through my Etsy shop and my personal website. I know INPRNT is designed more as a POD service…but does anybody use them to supply your prints to you, and then you sell them to customers?
